Yup, I got it. Badminton, my first choice in my CCA list and finally I am in the badminton team. I feel so happy.
During the audition, the coach asked me to play with a senior to see my capability and my skill. Subsequently, he gave me a form to fill in. One of key information I needed to provide was whether I was in the school team in my primary school days. Well, luckily I was in my previous school team. Finally, the coach asked me to attend for trials on either the following Tuesday or Wednesday. I was unable to wait any longer for the day to come. I was too eager to enter the team. I went on the following Tuesday and I was selected. Hooray.
We started training the following day. I was happy to meet all the players in the entire school team. The coach introduced himself during the first lesson and told us that the training will be held on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday every week from 3 to 6 p.m. The training is tough and tiring though.
During training, we have to run around Kah Kee Hall for minimum of 10 laps, then we have to do 20 times of footwork and 10 sets. After physical training, we have to polish up our basic skills as well. The technical term for the training is called drilling. The coach will ask us to play either 3 attack 2 or 2 attack 3 defend for around 1 hour. Before the end of each lesson, we have the chance to play with our coach. It can be a single or doubles matches.
My doubles partner will always be Khoo Soo Han, a boy from Kedah. He was a Kedah State player and he is a very fantastic player. His running speed is perfect and his shots are accurate. In addition, he has VERY VERY tricky net play. In another word, he is an all rounded player with special talent.
It is very lucky to have a partner like him because he is a very cheerful and happy person. Playing with him is really fun. He can partner anyone and he will encourage his partner when partner is nervous or depressed. Even though how bad the partner play or how weak his skills is, Soo Han will still enjoys the game and will not criticize him. He is not hot temper and always patience. I need to learn from him.
Cheers FOR BADMINTON. There will be training tomorrow. I am extremely happy.
